Pelican Builders announces new luxury midrise coming to Mimosa Drive in River Oaks

Pelican Builders announced Nov. 29 plans to bring a new boutique midrise to the River Oaks area that will offer 40 residences across eight floors when completed.

The project, called The Lexington, was designed by the Houston-based Kirksey Architecture, whose other projects include Arrive Upper Kirby, Heights Central Station and The Revere at River Oaks Condominium, which sits one block away from the new project and is sold out. The Lexington will be located at 2419 Mimosa Drive, Houston.

The design of the new project will include nods to London and U.S. East Coast influences, according to a Nov. 29 press release. It is the fourth collaboration project between Pelican and Kirksey.

“Having a consistent team in place and executing building after building with the same professionals is the key to delivering a quality development,” Pelican President Derek Darnell said in a statement. “As with The Revere before it, we intend to bring a sophisticated, single-level way of living to this ever-transitioning area nestled between River Oaks and Avalon Place via The Lexington."

The condominium will feature two levels of above-ground parking along with six residential floors. The third floor will feature a residents lounge with spaces for hosting gatherings, including card tables, a serving bar area and a dining room with a privacy enclosure. The third floor will also house a fitness center and air-conditioned storage units for residents.

Residences will feature extensive terraces, large floor plans, island kitchens, smart home capability, curbless showers, individual A/C units, optional outdoor gas grills and outdoor pet potty stations.

Other amenities will include 24-hour concierge services, valet parking, professional management and the ability to incorporate a complete backup generator for each resident home.

Homes will start at $1.7 million, while penthouses will start at $4.3 million, according to the release. Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2023, and the first homes are expected to be available around 18 months later.
