Officials at Broadview Real Estate announced Oct. 20 that their newest venture in the River Oaks area will include a 32-story, 520,000-square-foot office tower.
O27 is envisioned as a "next-generation workplace" that combines landmark architecture, hospitality-inspired amenities and highly flexible office environments, according to a news release.
The details
The tower, named after the shorthand for the 77027 ZIP code where it will be located, will sit on a 1.66-acre site on Westheimer Road next to the River Oaks District and the upcoming luxury hotel, The Greenleigh.
O27 will be designed by Houston-based architecture firm STG Design and will include elements such as:
Street-level entrance framed by water features
Landscaped terrace atop a nine-story parking deck
Dramatic penthouse crown
Shifting geometric facade composed of triangular glass panels
Anish Bavishi, managing director of Broadview Capital, said that the design was inspired by buildings in Houston that make a statement.
"With O27 and the help of STG Design, we set out to create something that honors that legacy while looking forward," he said via a news release. "This is a building that reflects Houston’s confidence, rewards those who experience it every day and earns recognition well beyond our city limits.”

Project officials said O27 aims to close the gap between the luxury residential and hospitality sectors and the office market, which has "largely favored convention over innovation."

Therefore, the designers aimed to create a sense of movement inside the space, which will manifest through an overhead sculpted canopy embedded with fiber optics to evoke a night sky passage, a water wall and flowing floor panels.

Per the release, the tower will feature outdoor gathering spaces, premium amenities such as EV charging stations, touchless technology and chauffeur service, as well as flexible office configurations.
