An electrifying comedy hub in Houston just found a permanent stage along Washington Avenue.
The Riot Comedy Club welcomed guests into its new brick-and-mortar location during an Aug. 27 grand opening event, according to an official Instagram post.
In a nutshell
The premier entertainment venue gained notoriety from its lineups featuring both locally and nationally touring comedians. It was founded in 2020, and aside from Houston, has grown to establish audiences in Conroe and San Antonio.
The 4,700-square-foot space on Washington Avenue, however, is The Riot Comedy Club’s first standalone building, according to a July 9 news release.
With live shows scheduled every day of the week, the new space will maintain its variety of entertainers—only now offering amenities from a custom-built showroom equipped with over 100 seats.
Expanded parking, a full evening bar program, plus food and beverage service are also among the comedy club’s newest features, per its Instagram. Patrons can enjoy craft beer and cocktails from its menu.
Another detail
In addition to the grand opening of its permanent location, the comedy club has also unveiled upcoming plans to open an on-site coffee shop concept.
The Riot, which is set to open sometime in September, will serve caffeinated beverages, baked goods, and other grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options starting at 7 a.m. every day, according to its social media.
