North Texas Tollway Authority prices to increase by $0.01 beginning July 1

The North Texas Tollway Authority announced June 1 they will be raising toll rates by $0.01, from 19 cents to 20 cents per mile, starting July 1.

This increase is part of a biennial toll rate schedule approved by the NTTA board of directors. The last increase was in 2019.

Pay-by-mail customers who do not get a TollTag will pay toll rates at least 50% higher.

The new rate will affect drivers using the Dallas North Tollway, President George Bush Turnpike, Sam Rayburn Tollway, Addison Airport Toll Tunnel, Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge, Mountain Creek Lake Bridge, Chisholm Trail Parkway, and 360 Tollway.

Crews will be updating toll rate road signs in the coming week and drivers should be on the lookout for workers, according to a press release.

“This incremental increase in toll rates will help NTTA repay $9.5 billion borrowed to construct its system of safe, clean and convenient toll roads and fund nearly $2 billion of improvements over the next five years,” NTTA Chairman John Mahalik said.

NTTA does not receive tax funding and is funded primarily by tolls. Tolls also fund safety and roadside service programs as well as high-quality road maintenance.
