SH 26 Green Ribbon projects
Project: The fiscal year 2024-25 Green Ribbon Project allows state funds to help pay for the installation of irrigation systems and planting of shrubs, ornamental trees and ground cover along Texas roadways. City officials have approved using funds for projects along SH 26 between a point north of John McCain Road to south of Longwood Drive, SH 121 from Gateway Drive to north of Glade Road, and FM 3029 from north of Lavaca Trail to south of West McDonwell School Road.
Update: Assistant City Manager Adrienne Lothery said a notice to proceed for the project is expected to be issued in August.

Ongoing projects
North Carroll Avenue corridor improvements
Project: The six-phase project between Main Street and the frontage roads for SH 114 included adding lanes along North Carroll Avenue and making improvements to several intersections.
Update: The replacement of a traffic signal cabinet at the SH 114 and North Carroll Avenue intersection was completed June 3, according to the city’s public works department. Work crews continue to finish remaining signal- and sign-related improvements, such as the installation of two pedestrian poles needed to accommodate radar detection equipment and internally lighted street name signs, included in the project.

West Continental Boulevard, Davis Boulevard intersection improvements
Project: Construction crews continue to work on the second of four phases for improvements along West Continental Boulevard in Southlake. Improvements included within the second phase are expected to improve the traffic flow within the area.
Update: A northbound deceleration lane at Continental and Davis is complete. Remaining signal work includes connecting and activating the new traffic signal for the intersection.

Completed projects
East Dove Road repaving
Project: Crews repaved a section of East Dove Road between North Carroll Avenue and North Kimball Avenue. Work was included as part of the city of Southlake’s planned pavement repairs project.
Update: Repaving work was completed June 3, and crews finished restriping the road June 12.

FM 1938 median construction
Project: Work included constructing a raised concrete median along FM 1938 between East Southlake Boulevard and city limits, which is complete. The project is part of a larger median construction project along FM 1938 that extends through Keller and North Richland Hills.
Update: City officials are working with TxDOT on the irrigation and landscaping improvements, which will be a later phase of the project. The design phase is 95% completed, according to city documents.

Lonesome Dove Road reconstruction
Project: Crews reconstructed Lonesome Dove Road between East Dove Road and Burney Lane.
Update: The reconstruction project finished June 29, which is when restriping work was completed.
