Truck-mounted fogging for mosquitoes will take place near 240 McDonwell School Road in Colleyville the night of Sept. 21 after the city was notified of its 13th positive West Nile virus sample in 2021, according to a city press release.
On Sept. 20, Tarrant County notified the city of the positive West Nile virus sample, which was one of the six submitted for the week of Sept. 16, the release stated. The positive sample was found near 240 McDonwell School Road.
Ronni Orr, city of Colleyville community relations and event specialist, said the fogging will take place around the streets and open areas at the park from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. on Sept. 21. Those within a quarter-mile of the area are being notified.
The positive West Nile sample on Sept. 20 comes after the city announced on Sept. 16 that three of the six mosquito samples submitted to Tarrant County for the week of Sept. 9 came back positive.
