The Grapevine Fire Department will be moving into two newly constructed fire stations as early as this month, built as part of the city’s 2017 bond program.
The new stations 2 and 3 will be located within a quarter-mile of their original locations. Station 2 is located at 3091 Dove Road and Station 3 is located at 3100 Timberline Drive. These new stations will be replacing the original stations 2 and 3 that were built in 1981 and 1982, respectively.
The stations were constructed at a guaranteed maximum price set at $13.13 million by Byrne Construction Services. The funding came from the 2017 Capital Bond Program approved by Grapevine citizens during the Nov. 7, 2017, election.
“We worked diligently to add adequate space for future growth and adaptation to the ever-evolving needs of our community. Both new fire stations are fully protected with a fire sprinkler system, so we are practicing what we preach,” fire Chief Darrell Brown said in a press release.
