The city of Southlake recently launched its Landscape Reimbursement Grant Program to aid local business owners whose landscape was damaged by the February winter storm.
The $182,500 grant program was approved by City Council in August and gives business owners the opportunity to be awarded a reimbursement not to exceed 50% of total funds spent on landscape replacements caused by the storm—up to $5,000 per property.
The landscape grant will be funded from the remaining funds allocated to the Southlake Business Relief Grant, which opened in December 2020.
“This is a unique grant program but one that our local business property owners will appreciate,” said Daniel Cortez, the city's director of economic development and tourism, in a city press release. “Our main goal is to bring back the aesthetic beauty that landscaping brings to Southlake. It’s been difficult enough for businesses to manage through a pandemic, but the winter storm of February added to the hurt our businesses were facing.”
