Tammy Nakamura and Kathy Florence-Spradley have been elected to the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees for Places 3 and 4, respectively.
Nakamura, the president of Natico Management Corp., won the race for Place 3 against opponent and incumbent Louie Sullins, a certified plan fiduciary advisor. Nakamura received 51.20% of the votes cast for Place 3, while Sullins received 48.80%.
Nakamura said in a Community Impact Newspaper Q&A that she wants to prioritize "transparency so parents can review the curriculum and open new lines of collaboration with teachers," as well as return the district's focus to "core curriculum...and away from social indoctrination."
