Early voting turnout in Tarrant County surpasses 2016 numbers with one day of early voting left

With only one day left of early voting before Election Day, Tarrant County voters have surpassed their early voting turnout for the 2016 election.

The last day of early voting in Texas is Oct. 30. Voters can cast their ballot at any location within Tarrant County, and polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. A full list of early voting locations can be found on the county’s webpage. On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

The nonprofit Vote America has also released an online tool to track the mail-in ballots as they arrive at elections offices across Texas. Voters can check if their mail-in ballot was received by their county's respective election office.

As of Oct. 28, the Texas Secretary of State’s Office reported that cumulative early voting turnout for in-person and mail-in ballots was at 52.57% out of the 1,212,524 registered voters in Tarrant County. In 2016, total early voting turnout was 47.14% out of 1,077,598 registered voters.

The highest single-day turnout in the county for the 2020 election remains Oct. 16, with 49,835 ballots cast that day alone. The lowest turnout date was Oct. 25, with 15,352 ballots cast.

In terms of turnout, Tarrant County currently ranks 39th out of 254 Texas counties. The top five counties are McCulloch, Montgomery, Collin, Blanco, and Williamson counties.
