Shannon Braun wins over incumbent Mindy McClure in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Place 1 runoff election

Unofficial results show challenger Shannon Braun has won over incumbent Mindy McClure in the runoff election for the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees Place 1 seat.

Braun received 52.28% of votes, and McClure received 47.72%. All election results are unofficial until verified and canvassed. Grapevine-Colleyville ISD called the election for Braun on June 5, and results will be canvassed during a board of trustees meeting later in the month. According to the district, Braun will take the oath of office at the regular June 21 board meeting.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to serve GCISD students, families and voters on our school board," Braun said in a statement. "Our community has spoken, and it is time to get GCISD back on track."

Braun also thanked McClure for her six years of service on the GCISD board of trustees.

McClure was first elected to the board in 2015 and currently serves as its vice president. Braun has served as an events chair and sports team manager, among other avenues of community involvement.

"I wish her the best of luck going forward," McClure said. "I hope her future as a trustee is as fulfilling and rewarding as my experience has been."
