Grapevine-Colleyville ISD hired a new chief financial officer, director of technology and executive director of athletics after all three roles became vacant in January.
The board of trustees unanimously voted to hire the new CFO and executive director of athletics at the April 27 board meeting.
What’s happening?
Carla Settle will take up the role as chief financial officer starting in May, according to a news release from GCISD.
Settle is the current CFO in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and previously worked at Cedar Hill ISD as both CFO and executive director of finance. She was also finance director in Grand Prairie ISD, per the release.
"I would just like to briefly express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve GCISD as a destination district,” Settle said. “It's a deep commitment that runs very long and strong in my family to public education. I am excited to use my gifts here to maintain the financial transparency and the stewardship that has already been established and maintaining the highest standards of integrity. Thank you for letting me join your family."
Billy Skinner will join GCISD as the new executive director of athletics this summer, according to the release. He previously served as the athletics coordinator and head football coach at Lamar High School in Arlington ISD since 2021. He has prior experience in this role at Irving MacArthur High School and also previously served as a varsity secondary coach, varsity special teams coach and defensive coordinator, per the release.
“My family and I are extremely excited to be here,” Skinner said. “We moved here in 2021 and this has been a destination for us. I spent a lot of time at Lamar High School and in Arlington ISD and that's been home. Then we got here and this is our new home. We're excited to be here. I'm excited to serve our coaches and our kids and work alongside you all.”
What else?
Michael Jagoditsh was named the executive director of technology in February, according to a news release from GCISD.
Jagoditsh worked as the director of data systems in GCISD since 2021 before stepping into an interim position as executive director of technology in January. He has 13 years of experience in educational technology, per a GCISD news release.
The GCISD board of trustees are still on the lookout for a new superintendent and the role is currently being filled by interim Superintendent Rick DeMasters, Community Impact previously reported.
All four previous district employees departed GCISD in January.
