The toll of the coronavirus pandemic on September sales tax collections had varying results in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake.
Grapevine reported a 14.12% year-over-year decrease in sales tax collections, according to September reports from the Texas Comptroller’s Office.
Colleyville remained virtually flat at a 0.07% decrease in sales tax collections when comparing reports from September 2019 and September 2020. Southlake saw a slight uptick, amounting to a 0.93% increase.
Net payments made in September—which generally reflects sales in July—were $2.8 million, $472,091 and $2.2 million in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake, respectively.
