Tracking COVID-19: Tarrant County confirms more than 4,000 positive cases

The number of cases of the coronavirus continues to increase in Tarrant County.

Tarrant County Public Health officials confirmed May 14 that there were 4,211 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, including 117 deaths and 828 patients who have recovered, which is equal to a 2.78% mortality rate.

According to TCPH, the community spread level remains “substantial.” A total of 239 COVID-19 patients are occupying beds in Tarrant County, and 232 of the county’s 666 ventilators are occupied.

Of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tarrant County, 66% of deaths have been patients age 65 or older. Patients ages 45-64 account for 66% of all positive COVID-19 cases in the county.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Grapevine is 71, with 22 recoveries and five deaths. The total number in Colleyville is 22, with 12 recoveries and no deaths. The total number in Southlake is 34, with 17 recoveries and one death.
