The number of cases of the coronavirus continues to increase in Tarrant County.
Tarrant County Public Health officials confirmed May 14 that there were 4,211 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, including 117 deaths and 828 patients who have recovered, which is equal to a 2.78% mortality rate.
According to TCPH, the community spread level remains “substantial.” A total of 239 COVID-19 patients are occupying beds in Tarrant County, and 232 of the county’s 666 ventilators are occupied.
Of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tarrant County, 66% of deaths have been patients age 65 or older. Patients ages 45-64 account for 66% of all positive COVID-19 cases in the county.
