Colleyville City Council approved a $3.43 million construction contract for the Colleyville Senior Center improvements.
The contract approved as part of the council's Feb. 1 meeting was with Mart Inc. for the renovations, according to the agenda item’s memo. The city began bidding out the project in December and received a total of 10 bids. Mart Inc. was the lowest bidder.
Renovations to the Colleyville Senior Center were initially recommended when Colleyville’s Parks and Recreation Department began its 2018 Open Space Master Plan. The city has worked with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture since February 2021 to develop the concept and budget, the memo states. The project’s total budget was set at $4.65 million.
As part of the renovations, almost all of the existing spaces in the Colleyville Senior Center will be improved, and the center’s annex building will be connected to the main building. In addition, many of the exterior walls will be opened up with windows, and rooms will be reconfigured to better suit the center’s programs.
