Williamson County officials, in partnership with city of Georgetown officials, are seeing construction on Westinghouse Road and CR 110 reach its final stages.
The project began in March 2022 and is expected to wrap up in March 2024, Williamson County officials said.
The overview
The improvements are on Westinghouse Road from FM 1460 to SH 130 and on CR 110 from CR 107 to just south of the Sam Houston Avenue intersection.
The construction includes adding shoulders; adding stop signs; widening two-lane roads; and removing sharp, 90-degree turns near Gateway College Prep School.
The project is a part of the Williamson County Long Range Transportation Plan, originally adopted in 2009 to address congestion and safety concerns brought on by increased traffic to the area.
The specifics
While construction on CR 110 is complete, approximately 900 feet of roadway widening and the placement of a drainage culvert crossing remains at the west end of Westinghouse Road near FM 1460, county officials said. Additionally, the intersection of CR 110 and CR 111 is now a four-way stop.
Some paving, striping and signage still needs to be added throughout.
The cost
The $21 million project is funded by the voter-approved 2021 Georgetown transportation bonds and 2019 Williamson County road bonds.
