1. Second Street rehabilitation

[caption id="attachment_91531" align="alignright" width="220"] Second Street rehabilitation[/caption] The city of Georgetown is making improvements to Second Street from Austin Avenue to College Street. In fall 2014 the city completed work to widen the Second and Austin intersection. Crews are finishing utility construction for the project, which is expected to be completed in March. The project is a part of the city’s overall street maintenance program. Timeline: July 2015-March 2016 Cost: $1.9 million Funding sources: city of Georgetown

2. CR 245 and Williams Drive intersection realignment

Williamson County broke ground in April on a project to realign the intersection of CR 245 and Williams Drive with the intersection of Gabriel Woods Drive and Williams. The project will also add a left-turn lane from CR 245 onto Williams. The roadway was closed Aug. 17 to complete construction and is expected to reopen Sept. 25. A detour route along Ronald Reagan Boulevard has been established. Timeline: April-late September Cost: $550,000 Funding sources: Williamson County road bond

3. Snead Drive widening

[caption id="attachment_91532" align="alignright" width="460"] Snead Drive widening[/caption] The city is widening Snead Drive to a four-lane undivided roadway from SE Inner Loop to Airborn Circle to provide infrastructure for ongoing economic development in the area. Joe Bland Construction LP began construction in August. Timeline: August 2015-summer 2016 Cost: $1.8 million Funding sources: city of Georgetown

4. I-35 frontage roads

Construction to add northbound I-35 frontage road lanes between Hwy. 29 and SE Inner Loop continues. The project will also add a southbound-to-northbound turnaround bridge at Leander Road and four noncontiguous sidewalks from SE Inner Loop to Westinghouse Road. Crews closed lanes in late July to continue construction on the turnaround bridge at Leander. The contractor closed lanes on the new frontage road in late August to complete the final paving. The entrance ramp from the frontage road to I-35 just south of Blue Springs Boulevard was permanently closed Aug. 10. All traffic entering the highway will use the new ramp located north of Gateway Street or use the entrance ramp north of SE Inner Loop. Timeline: February 2013-late September 2015 Cost: $19.3 million Funding sources: Williamson County road bond with a pass-through financing agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation

Roadway resurfacing

Construction crews spent most of August and early September resurfacing roadways throughout Georgetown, including Williams Drive and streets in the San Gabriel Heights and Katy Crossing neighborhoods as well as areas south of University Avenue, and the River Bend and Country Club neighborhoods. Repaving is weather-dependent. Timeline: August-early September Cost: $1.7 million Funding sources: city of Georgetown
