Sheraton Hotel announced for The Summit at Rivery Park development

A Sheraton Hotel will be coming to The Summit at Rivery Park, a 32-acre mixed-use development located on Rivery Boulevard in Georgetown, said Jeff Novak, a principal of Novak Brothers, one of the developers of the project.

The approximately $60 million hotel will feature 225 rooms and a 53,000-square-foot conference center, he said.

Novak said developers are still negotiating final agreements with the city, which will own the conference center.

"We've gotten everything done that we need to get done, and now it's up to ironing out our agreements with the city and the county. Those things are the last piece of the puzzle," Novak said.

Initial construction on the site to install infrastructure is expected to begin in the spring. Hotel construction could begin in summer 2013, Novak said. Hotel developer Hines is also a partner on the hotel and conference center, which could be completed by September 2015.

Plans for The Summit at Rivery Park also include 80,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of restaurant space and 223 multifamily units.

Novak and his brother, Jack, are also the developers of The Brownstone at The Summit, a residential development that is part of The Summit at Rivery Park and that features 114 single-family homes.
