Residents with expired or unwanted medications in their home may drop them off at this year's second Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Scott & White Clinic at 4945 Williams Drive.
Prescription drug take-back events are an effort of the Drug Enforcement Administration to prevent pharmaceuticals from affecting water quality and to reduce risks involved with keeping unwanted medications in homes, such as abuse or accidental overdose.
At a similar event held in April, more than 1,760 pounds of medications were collected from four sites throughout Williamson County, a news release stated.
Medications will be taken on a no-questions-asked basis, the release stated. It is requested that drop-offs come in their original containers, if possible. Items that will be accepted include:
