The city of Georgetown's Arts and Culture Board is issuing a call for artist proposals for a mural to be on the rear wall of 107 W. Seventh Street. The goal of the mural is to provide a piece of public art to residents and visitors that tells the story of how Henry Purl Compton helped Georgetown become the Red Poppy Capital of Texas. The deadline for grant proposals is Jan. 8, and artists will be notified by Jan. 22.
