Store owners want to celebrate with customers
Georgetown Jewelry owner Ricky Poe has spent most of his life serving peopleboth through his work in ministry and with jewelry.
Jewelry always fascinated me, especially diamondshow we find diamonds and how we market diamonds. Its such a great way of celebration, Poe said. [Our business is run by] people that really care about people and love the opportunity to celebrate with [customers] on their special occasions when they are buying jewelry.
Poe, who still volunteers his time as a chaplain with several area police departments, worked in his brothers jewelry store near Houston off and on during a span of 17 years before deciding to learn more about gems and jewelry at the Gemological Institute of America and open his own business.
The jewelry business is a great business to be a part of, he said.
