The Georgetown ISD board will host a public forum Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. to discuss elementary attendance zone changes that could affect students living in the Georgetown Village neighborhood.
The meeting will be held in the GISD Administrative Building at 603 Lakeway Drive.
The district will allow students currently enrolled at elementary campuses impacted by the boundary changes to stay at their current campus if they desire to do so; however, transportation will not be provided for students that choose to be grandfathered into their current campus.
The school board was presented with preliminary attendance zones for Frost and McCoy elementary schools at its Dec. 5 meeting. The new attendance zones would take effect in the 2012–13 school year. Both Frost and McCoy campuses will transition to full elementary schools with kindergarten through fifth grade with the opening of the new McCoy campus, GISD spokesman Brad Domitrovich said.
