On Nov. 27, Georgetown City Council approved a rezoning to amend the Wesleyan at Estrella planned unit development to allow the senior care facility to construct an additional independent living building.
The new building would be two stories tall with 124 independent living units connected to the community's current independent living facility, Wesleyan Homes President Chris Spence said.
"The response to our first property since it opened out there has just been overwhelming," he said. "We have about 300 people on the waiting lists with probably about a two-year wait to get in. We just want to serve more people."
