Repairs to Williamson County's parking garage located between Third, Fourth and Rock streets in Georgetown will wait a while longer. The parking garage has been in need of repairs since 2011.
Williamson County commissioners are expected to discuss and possibly approve a bid to repair the garage at their Oct. 15 meeting, after pulling a similar agenda item on Oct. 1.
"There was a bid item for the court to award a construction contract for the repairs of the parking garage [on Oct. 1]," said Robert Daigh, senior director of infrastructure for Williamson County. "The item was pulled for consideration until the court could get some additional information."
The parking garage has been closed since 2011, when cracks were discovered in the structure. Jose I. Guerra Inc. evaluated the damage, and determined the county will need to make repairs and reinforce different aspects of the facility.
