In his final campaign finance report before the Nov. 3 election, Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody's campaign reported spending nearly $700,000 in one month's time.
Local candidates submitted their most recent campaign finance reports Oct. 26; they detail contributions, expenses and loans between the end of September and the end of October.
In total, Chody spent about $684,655 during that time, documents show. His report also indicated that he raised about $2,355 in contributions and has an outstanding loan of about $521,645 to himself.
Much as was shown in his Oct. 5 report, a significant amount of Chody campaign spending went to Murphy Nasica, a full-service political consulting firm, to the tune of about $523,152, documents show. This is about double what he paid the firm between July 1 and the end of September, it said.
