In addition to Fourth of July celebrations, the city of Georgetown and the Georgetown Public Library are hosting a number of family-friendly events in late June and July.

Richard Smith concert
The Williamson County Guitar Society will welcome Richard Smith to the stage. Smith is known for his fingerstyle technique and musicality, performing jazz, county, ragtime, pop and classical tunes.

Wildlife on the MoveThe organization will bring unhuggable animals, including snakes, spiders and cockroaches to the Georgetown Public Library for a presentation on unloved insects and animals.
Georgetown Sertoma July 4th Celebration and FireworksPut on by the Georgetown Sertoma Club, the event includes all day activities, such as games, rides, inflatables and vendors. The kiddie parade, featuring patriotically decorated bicycles, tricycles, carts, wagons and scooters, begins at 11 a.m., followed by a lineup of live music. The firework show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
4th of July CelebrationVFW Post 8587 is celebrating America’s 250th birthday. The event will include live music, burgers and hotdogs, arts and crafts, a petting zoo and fireworks.
Storytime PlaydatesThe Georgetown Public Library will host storytime in the park, followed by time to play.
Dive-In MovieGeorgetown’s parks and recreation department will show "Jungle Cruise" while guests swim at the Williams Drive Pool. Preregistration is required, and attendance is capped at 150 people.
From Balconies to BackyardsHosted by the Good Water Master Naturalist Chapter, the 2026 event will have the theme “Taking care of what you have,” and feature keynote speaker John Hart Asher, host of the Austin PBS Central Texas Gardener show. Topics include coexisting with minifauna, climate resilience and doing less for more birds and butterflies.
A Real Mad HatterThe performance group will bring its magical comedy puppet show to the Georgetown Public Library.
Science in the ParkFamilies are invited to join the city for science projects in the park, while supplies last. The activities are best suited for children ages 12 and under.
Sing and SplashA new addition to the summer calendar, the city is hosting an evening of swimming, karaoke and food trucks at the Williams Drive Pool.
'42nd Street'The Georgetown Palace Theatre will put on a production of the show, which celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the magic of show business.
Live on the LawnFor the summer music series finale, Vinyl Countdown ATX, a group that blends rock, soul, pop and country music, will perform crowd-favorite songs in Garey Park. Food truck Tejano Cookers BBQ and Mimi’s Party Palace will provide food and drinks. Preregistration is required.
Sunset Movie SeriesThe city will show "Zootopia 2" on the event lawn of San Gabriel Park. Families are invited to bring a blanket and chairs and some snacks, and can enjoy free popcorn and activities. Frios, a gourmet pop food truck, will be on site.
