Seats to the first class in the city of Georgetown’s Healthy Yards workshop Jan. 26 filled up quickly, but plant and garden hobbyists will have five more chances to attend the series this year.
Throughout the six-part, bi-monthly workshop, local experts will teach participants how to maintain a healthy yard on a budget, with discussions on composting, natural landscaping, proper irrigation and more. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and learn ways to mitigate challenges and address routine maintenance.
The classes are free to attend, but registration is required. Door prizes and drawings are included as part of the series, and drinks and refreshments will be available.
The next available class will be held March 20 at the Georgetown Public Library, located at 402 W. Eighth St., from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The session will focus on native plants and deterring deer.
