From finishing up spring cleaning to celebrating "Star Wars" day, there are a number of local events in Georgetown to close out spring and kick start summer.
This list is not comprehensive, and event details are subject to change.
'Seeing Double' Exhibit
Located at the Georgetown Art Center, the exhibit features two views of Texas by artists Denise Elliott Jones and Debbie Carroll. Works explore the seven regions of the state—including the Hill Country, Panhandle and South Texas Plains—with each artist interpreting the same locations through distinct styles and perspectives.
Williamson County Art Guild “Big Picture Show” receptionThis artist reception features large-scale works by member artists as part of the guild’s 50th anniversary celebration. The gallery, which opened in October 2023, showcases work from 26 resident member artists, with rotating monthly exhibitions in the front galleries.
19th Annual Car Show and Charity BenefitThe Georgetown Texas Area Car Club will host its 19th annual event, featuring up to 225 vehicles as well as awards, raffles, auctions, food vendors, music and entertainment. Proceeds from the event support scholarships for local automotive technology students and other causes.
May the Fourth Be With YouThe city of Georgetown pop up event in San Gabriel Park will allow attendees to test their abilities on a Jedi training course, battle with light sabers and destroy the Death Star. Guests are invited to dress in costume.
Battery Blitz and household hazardous waste disposalThe city of Georgetown will host two upcoming disposal events at the Georgetown Municipal Complex. Accepted items at the no-registration-needed drive-thru battery disposal event include AA, AAA, C, D, 9-volt and button batteries. At the household hazardous waste collection event, accepted items include chemicals, paint and oil, among others.
Sip & Shop fundraiserThe Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties fundraiser will feature a fashion show, pop-up local boutique shopping, and wine and beer tastings. Proceeds will benefit the Meals on Wheels program.
Color the Sky Kite DayLocals are invited to gather at Garey Park to enjoy a picnic and fly kites.
