The Williamson County and Cities Health District announced six new positive cases of the novel coronavirus April 29, bringing the county total to 293.
Currently, 11 patients are hospitalized, and one patient is on a ventilator, per the report. Of the 293 confirmed cases, 169 have recovered. The current recovery rate is 57.7%.
The eighth person who died was a woman in her 60s.
“Williamson County is joining another family in mourning the loss of a loved one due to the coronavirus. While we are preparing to reopen in a safe and thought out manner, it is crucial that we continue to practice social distancing, as able, and follow proper hygiene guidelines to help reduce further spread of this deadly disease,” Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said in a news release.
