The city is seeking applications for the new Georgetown Civic Leadership Academy intended to educate and connect existing and upcoming community leaders interested in serving Georgetown, according to a July 20 news release.
To be eligible for the academy, participants must be a Georgetown resident, able to attend six out of eight classes and at least 21 years of age, the release said.
Classes will be held Sept. 30, Nov. 4, Dec. 2, Jan. 6, Feb. 3, March 3, April 7 and May 5.
Participants of the academy will acquire a better understanding of Georgetown’s government, the community and its challenges.
