On Feb. 25, Georgetown-based Program Insurance Group announced it was acquired by Higginbotham, an independent brokerage firm based in Fort Worth.

Higginbotham is the largest independent insurance, financial and HR services firm headquartered in Texas, according to a news release.
The partnership allows Higginbotham to gain service through Program Insurance Group’s EZ CERT, a proprietary certificate tracking program designed to simplify compliance for franchisors and franchisees, per the release.
