Frisco facilities to close Feb. 24 due to icy conditions

Several city facilities in Frisco will be closed on Feb. 24 due to hazardous road conditions from persistent freezing rain and sleet.

They include the following facilities:

• Frisco Public Library at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center
• The library’s CONNECTION center at Stonebriar Centre mall
• Frisco Athletic Center
• The Grove at Frisco Commons
• Frisco Discovery Center
• Frisco Heritage Museum

In addition, all Collin County offices and early-voting locations for the March 1 primary election will be closed, including the second-floor office inside Frisco City Hall, according to the city.

All Denton County offices and early-voting locations will also be closed, according to the county.

According to the National Weather Service, road conditions are expected to continue to worsen Feb. 23 through 8 p.m. and will not improve until the afternoon of Feb. 24. Conditions are expected to fully clear by late in the afternoon Feb. 25.
