The upcoming drone delivery service for select residents in Frisco should have no major effect on the environment, according to a federal report.
Drone delivery company Wing, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is “one step closer” to launching its service after the Federal Aviation Administration released its final environmental assessment in February. Certain Frisco and Little Elm residents will soon be able to receive delivery of a selection of about 100 nonprescription items from Walgreens by air.
The report states that available data on “existing conditions and potential impacts” was analyzed. According to the report, Wing is projecting a maximum of about 100 flights per day in the first year of operations.
Flights would occur during daytime hours only, the report stated, typically on five days of the week and generally excluding holidays.
