Feb. 3 MakerSpace First Friday On the first Friday of every month, the Sci-Tech Discovery Center invites veterans to the Makerspace studio to learn, create, build and make. Children over 10 years old are also welcome. Guests will be able to work on their own projects, and there will be instructional programs on Arduino microcontrollers and laser cutters. 6 p.m. (first session), 7 p.m. (second session). Feb. 4 Peter and the Wolf Odysseus North Texas Chamber Orchestra will present a family affair with a repeat performance of "Peter and the Wolf." The performance will be accompanied by an interactive projection slideshow by local artist Annie Royer. There will also be preconcert activities for kids, including face painting, balloon twisting and adventure through rhythms. Mothers can partake in a spa evening at a discounted price. Feb. 5 ‘Giving Bach’ The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Flute Choir will present “Giving Bach,” a concert featuring flute ensemble favorites. Under the direction of Priscilla Holt, the Flute Choir is an ensemble consisting of 14 members of the flute family, such as the piccolo, C flute, alto flute and bass flute.
