Frisco City Council will meet, and holiday events continue in Frisco this week.
Christmas in the Square Light & Music Show Extravaganza
The largest holiday light and music show in North Texas is taking place in Frisco Square. Other festivities going on throughout the week include Skate the Square, Christmas tree sale lot, carriage rides and a toy drive. Festivities will run from 6-10 p.m. each night at Frisco Square, 8874 Coleman Blvd., Frisco. 469-633-1721
Filing for Frisco City Council seat continues
Residents can still file for the Place 1 seat on City Council. The seat is an unexpired term that will be up for election again in 2018. Filing ends Dec. 19, and election day will be Feb. 18. To be eligible to file for City Council, a person must be at least age 18, be a resident of the county and a U.S. citizen, not be convicted of a felony and not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law. Applications can be accessed online or picked up at the city secretary’s office at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.
Frisco City Council regular meeting
Frisco City Council will meet Tuesday for its regular council meeting. During the meeting, a public hearing will be held for a issuing specific-use permit for a Residence Inn Hotel at the southwest corner of John Hickman Parkway and Frisco Green Avenue. The hotel would be a “dual-brand” hotel concept, which is one mid-rise hotel structure that houses two different company brands. The dual-brand hotel would include a traditional full-service hotel and an extended-stay component. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco.
