Frisco Public Library to return to regular hours, remain at 75% capacity

The Frisco Public Library will return to its regular hours beginning Nov. 7, though it will continue to operate at 75% capacity, per guidance issued by Gov. Greg Abbott. That amounts to a maximum of 204 visitors in the library at any one time.

The library has been operating at reduced hours since reopening to the public at 25% capacity on June 4.

“We [also] still will be requiring masks while you’re in the library,” Library Director Shelley Holley said during the Nov. 2 Frisco City Council meeting.

The second-floor children’s area will remain closed to the public, and social distancing guidelines will continue to be enforced.

Holley said the library’s new hours will be:

• 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays,

• 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and

• 1-6 p.m. Sundays.

The hours for the library’s curbside service recently changed following the end of daylight saving time. The curbside pickup is now available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 1-6 p.m. Sundays.

The library’s monthly report to council showed it received nearly 17,000 resident visits during the month of September, which was the most recent data available.
