Ivybrook Academy to offer Montessori-inspired preschool experience in west Frisco

Ivybrook Academy cannot wait to welcome its first students at 5055 Panther Creek Parkway after it opens its first Frisco location in summer.

“We're just looking forward to serving the community,” co-owner Amyn Amlani said.

Originally founded in North Carolina, the half-day, Montessori-inspired preschool has multiple locations across the country. The Frisco location, expected to open sometime in August or early September, will be the academy’s second in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Amyn and his wife, co-owner Alicia Amlani, plan to accept children as young as 18 months old and up to 5 years old once it opens, Amyn said. The half-day hours also allow children to spend an equal amount of time at school and with family, Amyn said.

“We think this particular model is very unique,” Amyn said. “It's only a half day, so kids come in the morning, and then they go home.”

The school follows an education practice that focuses on individual instruction, the concept of multiple intelligences, and incorporates fine arts, earth science, culture and more, according to its website.

“We are actually a blended approach to the educational model,” Amyn said.

Enrollment for classes at the academy is open now, Amyn said.
