The district’s board of trustees once again has finalized new school attendance zones for the 2016-17 school year.
Attendance zones were adjusted to relieve crowding at some existing elementary schools and to accommodate the four new schools opening this year, including FISD’s ninth high school, Lebanon Trail High School.
The district made changes to some of the original plans after parents submitted petitions against the proposals.
“We appreciate the hard work on the part of all involved in this several-months-long process of developing zoning proposals, taking and reviewing feedback, and bringing forward final recommendations with modifications where possible,” Board President Anne McCausland said.
