During the month Frisco ISD schools have been closed, the district has been providing meals to over 9,000 of its students.
Since March 17, the district has provided breakfast and lunch to FISD students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program.
As of April 14, 43,873 total meals have been served to students in need, according to an FISD official.
The district went from daily meal distributions to weekly distributions beginning April 8 to enhance social distancing, according to FISD’s website. Every Wednesday, five days worth of breakfast and lunch will be provided at once at six campuses.
