Frisco ISD board to plan for 2020-21 school year at workshop

The Frisco ISD board of trustees will discuss planning and preparation for the 2020-21 school year at a workshop.

The workshop will take place June 11 at 5 p.m. at the FISD Administration Building and will be livestreamed. There will also be an opportunity for public comment.

The district is still weighing options for how to approach the fall in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent parent survey, 44% of parents favored starting school normally with added safety measures in place; 33% favored a blend of online and face-to-face learning; and 22% favored a totally online approach.

Other agenda items for the workshop include acting on a contract extension with ESS South Central LLC, a sourcing company the district started using in the 2019-20 school year to increase its substitute teacher pool.
