FISD approved about $752 million in operating revenue for fiscal year 2026-27, down from roughly $771.7 million in the current fiscal year, according to district projections. The adopted 2026-27 budget includes:
- $751.899 million in revenue
- $751.899 million in spending
Trustees also approved the 2026-27 compensation plan, which includes 2% raises for all staff. The raise is capped at $2,000 for central administrators. The plan includes stipend increases for special education teachers, according to a district news release.
Cost-saving measures to get to a balanced budget include evaluating open positions in the central office, standardizing class loads to adjust for declining enrollment, reviewing department budgets and implementing new revenue streams before cutting programs, according to district officials.
Some new programs the district has implemented include Access Frisco, which allows kindergarten through seventh grade students to transfer to FISD from other school districts.
