For someone who is unfamiliar with Indian food, Seth said the customer should explain to the server what kind of food he or she likes in order to serve an Indian dish that will complement his or her tastes.

Indian food has a variety of spices that will appeal differently to people, and Seth said she wants to be able to accommodate everyone.

“We have balanced it out so that anybody can come into the restaurant and find something they are going to like,” Seth said.

Seth grew up in Mumbai, learning how to cook from family.

“I was a big foodie; I liked trying new things and loved cooking,” she said. “I wasn’t professionally trained, but I did everything with passion and heart.”

After coming to the United States, Seth worked in IT, so her passion for food had to be put aside.

However, Seth said she continued to cook for her friends and family, who all encouraged her to pursue her passion.

Seth said business in Frisco has been doing well since she took over Sigree. She plans to open a second location sometime next year but does not know where, she said.

“I love meeting and greeting new people, and it is so important to me to share our food and service to different people,” she said.
