Two more West Nile virus-positive mosquito pools in Frisco bumps the tally up to 21 positive pools since testing began May 1, according to a city news release.
In response, ground spraying will occur overnight on July 31 and Aug. 1 in public areas to the west and south of Northwest Community Park, the release said. Areas around the Trails of Frisco Golf Club and Cottonwood Creek Park and Trail will also see spraying: Shaddock Estates, Heather Ridge Estates, The Fairways at The Trails and Country Club at the Trails.
If weather permits, a third-party contractor will apply treatment for the two consecutive nights, beginning from 9 p.m. July 31 and continuing through 5 a.m. Aug. 1. The overnight schedule is the same on Aug. 1, ending at 5 a.m. Aug. 2.
No human cases of West Nile have been reported, according to the city.
