The addition of a bridge in Flower Mound continues to take shape after Flower Mound Town Council approved a construction agreement at its July 15 meeting.
Council approved the agreement for nearly $9.4 million with construction firm Urban Infraconstruction LLC for the Denton Creek Boulevard Bridge and waterline project. On March 4, council approved an amendment to the interlocal cooperation agreement with Denton County for the construction of the bridge.
The details
Clay Riggs, Flower Mound Public Works director, said the bridge project will feature a roadway extension with bike lanes and a multipurpose trail over Denton Creek, which is in accordance with the town’s thoroughfare plan. The project also includes two 12-inch waterlines and an 8-inch reuse waterline. The bridge will provide emergency access to Flower Mound west of Denton Creek, as there is no access. Plus, the bridge will eventually provide access to I-35W.
