Bartonville officials voted to accept the resignation of Town Administrator Thad Chambers. Without much discussion, Town Council voted to accept Chamber’s resignation at its Dec. 17 meeting. The vote also waived Chambers two-week-notice period.

Town Secretary Shannon Montgomery said the resignation was effective immediately. Montgomery said she couldn’t provide any more details on the resignation, directing Community Impact to the town’s chief of police, who is also the acting town administrator.
Kirk Riggs, the police chief, did not immediately respond to requests for comment in time for publication. Chambers also could not be reached for comment.
