2 Flower Mound parks’ playgrounds ready after renovations

Two parks’ playgrounds in Flower Mound have received upgrades and are play ready.

The Wilkerson Park playground, located at 2880 Garden Road, offers a new space-themed playground, which features two separate play structures with integrated shade for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12, a six-seat swing set, multiple slides, climbing structures, educational panels and more, according to a news release from the town of Flower Mound.

Town officials said part of the upgrades included the old wood fiber safety surfacing being replaced with poured-in-place rubber for enhanced accessibility and safety.

The Possum Park playground, located at 2535 Timber Ridge Lane, has a new nature-themed playground with two separate play structures for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12, a five-seat swing set, multiple slides and engineered wood fiber play surfacing.
