Argyle ISD approves instructional calendar for 2026-27 school year

Argyle ISD’s board of trustees unanimously approved its instructional calendar for the 2026-27 school year at a regular board meeting Feb. 16.

What you need to know

The 2026-27 calendar has the following notable dates:

• Aug. 11: start of fall semester
• Oct. 12-16: student holiday
• Nov. 23-27: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 21-Jan. 1: winter break
• Mar. 8-12: spring break
• May 20: end of spring semester

Additional holidays include Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents Day, according to district documents.

Assistant Superintendent Dawn Jordan said the school district has also implemented two snow days into the calendar for March 26, or Good Friday, and April 30. These days would be used to makeup instructional time in the event of school closures due to inclement weather.

AISD staff members voted for their favorite calendar option for the 2026-27 school year, according to district documents. More than half of the district's staff voted for the option adopted by trustees Feb. 16.
