Longtime Flower Mound residents Mike and Tammy Theriot said they chose to open a Clean Eatz franchise in 2021 for multiple reasons, including to fulfill a promise Tammy made her father.“My dad died from basically eating unhealthily,” Tammy said. “He made me promise on his deathbed to eat healthy and take care of myself.”Mike worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. Due to pandemic-related cutbacks, he lost his corporate position as a vice president of culinary. He was hesitant to jump back into a restaurant-related field, but after researching the franchise he was swayed.
“What interested us in the concept is it was healthy and affordable,” he said. “I looked at the operation, and compared to what I had done in the past, this was a very easy operation to maintain.”
There are multiple ways customers can experience meals at Clean Eatz. They can order items from the cafe, such as wrapz, burgerz, and smoothiez. Items, such as chicken parmesan, sweet chili chicken and pizza, can be selected from the grab-and-go section. Customers also can choose to preorder fresh meals, such as chicken and waffles for breakfast, a brisket enchilada bowl, and buffalo chicken mac and cheese.
“A lot of people think we bring those [preorder] meals in,” Mike said. “I prepare everything in house.”
