Highway frontage roads and additional lanes are some of the projects crews are working on in and around Denton this month. This list is not comprehensive.
Ongoing projects
1. Redstone Road utility and pavement replacement
Project: Crews are working along Redstone Road from Hercules Lane to Neptune Drive to replace utilities and pavement.
Update: Crews have completed lime-stabilized subgrade, fine grading and placement of the first lift of asphalt. Crews are currently working on curb and gutter improvements.
2. North Trinity Bridge reconstruction
Project: The bridge on North Trinity Road is being redone to include an additional lane.
Update: The project is funded and being managed by the Texas Department of Transportation. Crews for this project have placed the base of the new lane and have also added the next layer. Crews are working to place the metal beam guard fence, add striping, shoulders and slopers and place block sodding.
3. I-35E at Mayhill interchange reconstruction
Project: Crews are reconstructing the interchange at Mayhill and I-35E and the existing four-lane frontage road from Pockrus Page Road to Loop 288.
Update: Crews are placing drainage along the southbound frontage road and the northbound frontage road. Work includes removing existing driveways and sidewalk along the northbound and southbound frontage roads. Currently crews are working to place concrete paving on the southbound frontage road from State School Road south to the end of the project.
Upcoming projects
4. Loop 288 frontage road construction
Project: TxDOT is planning to construct frontage roads on Loop 288 with grade separations and an improved connector to US 380. The project would span from I-35 to US 380 east of Geasling Road.
Update: A schematic approval is expected in December, with environmental clearance to come in the spring.
