Independence Day will affect several Denton facilities and services, according to an announcement on the city’s website.
The details
All libraries will close Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, and reopen with normal hours Sunday, July 5, according to the announcement.
The Linda McNatt Animal Shelter will also close July 3-4, and reopen with regular hours Monday, July 6.
The Denton Municipal Court and Quakertown Civic Center will close Friday, July 3, and resume regular hours Monday, July 6.
Utilities customer service will close July 3 and resume regular hours Monday, July 6.
Administrative offices, including City Hall, will close on July 3.
Denton Enterprise Airport administrative offices will also close on July 3-4, and the air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. The airfield will stay open 24/7 through the holiday weekend.
What else?
The following recreation centers and facilities will remain open July 3 and close July 4:
- Denia Recreation Center
- North Lakes Recreation Center
- Denton Senior Center
- American Legion Hall Senior Center
The recreation centers will reopen under regular hours Monday, July 6, with the exception of the North Lakes Recreation Center, which will undergo renovations starting on that date. North Lakes is scheduled to reopen on July 25, per previous Community Impact reporting.
The Denton Tennis and Pickleball Center will also remain open July 3, but close July 4. The tennis and pickleball center will reopen Sunday, July 5.
The North Lakes Driving Range will operate under regular hours July 3 and stay open with modified hours on July 4, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and resume normal hours July 5.
One more thing
The holiday will not impact curbside trash and recycling collection for Denton residents, and all public safety personnel will remain on duty, the announcement states.
All aquatic facilities will also remain open for regular hours on July 3-4, including the Denton Natatorium, Water Works Park and Civic Center Pool.
